We are so excited about our refurbished hot dog cart....it's so cute! We will be at the Ada Farmer's Market every Tuesday through the summer featuring LOCAL Heffron Farms Hot Dogs and LOCAL buns by Little Rooster. The cart is also available for parties!!

Ribs today for lunch and dinner!

Join the creators of the delicious locally produced basting sauce, Pops Bare Bones Basting Sauce.  They'll be sampling and sharing their story from noon - 2 PM during our grill lunch.  All day today, we'll be featuring their sauce . . . Chef Craig will be preparing ribs for lunch and dinner along with grilled chicken breast brushed with this killer sauce.

Join Grand River Grocery and Bistro Bella Vita Thursday evening, September 16 at 6:00 PM for our “Michigan Wine Dinner” a not to be missed 6 course dinner celebrating local and Michigan food and wine, with proceeds benefiting Local First and featuring the wines of 2 Lads Winery.  The 2 Lads will be present, Chris Baldyga and winemaker Cornel Olivier.  $100.00 per person, call Bistro Bella Vita at 222-4600 for reservations.  The menu looks great:

1st Course:  Michigan seafood duo, 2 unique Michigan products highlighted with house-made garnishes.

2nd Course:  Ingraberg Farm's heirloom tomatoes 3 ways

3rd Course:  Harrietta Hill's rainbow trout with crispy potato gratin, braised local greens, chanterelle mushrooms and Michigan bacon-apple vinaigrette

4th Course:  S&S Farm's lamb chop with Jenning's Brother's polenta, local baby vegetables and Al Haarsma's honey & cranberry gastrique

5th Course:  West Michigan Cassoulet with braised and roasted local meats, house-made sausage, Blanchard Farm's white beans, roasted root vegetables and red wine demi glace

6th Course:  Dancing Goat Creamery Cheesecake with Honey Creek Farm's peaches and Michigan Maple Syrup

LIVE! AND LOCAL

Grand River Grocery will host “LIVE! and Local” a day devoted to celebrating Michigan products with demonstrations and tastings by local and Michigan food producers on Friday, September 17, noon to 8 PM from their location at 496 Ada Dr., in the Village of Ada.

“LIVE! and Local gives our customers a chance to meet the incredible medley of people who pour their passion and expertise into making outstanding products.  As a market team, we are committed to supporting local foods and local farmers . . . this day is dedicated to those food artisans from around the state, many of whom reside in West Michigan,” said Georgia Gietzen, Grand River Grocery Proprietor.

 Food purveyors will set up in the parking lot and throughout the market from noon to 5, there will be a special grill menu at lunch and dinner featuring local and Michigan products, live music in the afternoon and evening, and a beer tent featuring a Michigan brewery.  From 2-6 PM Cornel Olivier and Chris Baldyga from 2 Lads Winery will be on hand in the “tasting” tent sharing their award winning wines from Old Mission Peninsula.
